US NEWS: 7-Year-Old-Missing Boy Found Dead in Texas in a Pond
On the somber Sunday afternoon of November 26, 2023, at 2:43 P.M., the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 7-year-old child, Jesus J. Castellanos-Carreon.
Parents Felipe Castellanos and Blanca Carreon-Antonio, filled with distress, realized their son was missing and immediately initiated a frantic search for him. The unfolding events led to a devastating discovery, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
Concerns grew when signs hinted that Jesus might have ventured into a sizable pond near their residence on Pasadera Road. Without hesitation, the distressed parents dialed 9-1-1, triggering an urgent call for help.
Responding promptly, the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office, alongside a multitude of first responders, launched a comprehensive air, water, and ground search operation. The water rescue team from Austin PD played a crucial role, ultimately locating Jesus’s lifeless body in the pond at 7:50 P.M. The chilling water, measuring 56 degrees, enveloped the child in 5 feet of depth, said Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office in social media post.
Tragically, Jesus was diagnosed with autism, shedding light on the unique challenges faced by families with autistic children. It’s not uncommon for such children to be drawn to bodies of water, including ponds, pools, and water tanks, making vigilance an ongoing necessity for their caregivers.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a poignant reminder of the vulnerability of autistic children and the importance of heightened safety measures to prevent such devastating outcomes.
